'Being present', 'being fully here and now' is extremely important in all types of human relationship!
Start by being curious about what is going on inside you, rather than feeling that you must change things. Meditating doesn't necessarily mean transforming yourself, but instead living reality and the current instant as it is. This experience will help you to develop a state of calmness and serenity and to have a clear mind.
In turn, this may lead you to be calmer in your relationships and to regulate the emotions or disruptive thoughts (a vicious circle of self-disparagement, negative thinking etc.) that otherwise pollute your relationships.
It may also help you to abandon 'automatic pilot' mode, which sometimes prevents you from being fully present, taking you from bed to work without you really being conscious of drinking your morning coffee or driving the car along your normal route.
