Regular meditation will enable you to understand how your mind works and to become conscious of your thoughts – both the positive and negative ones. You can then observe your negative thoughts and automatic reactions with curiosity, without wanting to resist, struggle against them or even to change them. This means you can try to experiment with a different, more detached relationship with your thoughts, in the knowledge that they are just thoughts, not reality.
However, the fundamentals of meditation will provide you with a level of lucidity and calmness which will be helpful when positive psychology concepts are introduced during some of the audio programmes.
